Recoleta

RECOLETA
Recoleta is a wonderful walking area that combines with distinction upscale stores, restaurants and boutiques. The Recoleta district inherited its name from the recoleto monks who settled down in the area at the beginning of the XVIII century. This residential district is famous for its French style buildings, large parks, exclusive fares, aristocratic bars and first rate restaurants. It is one of the most tourist neighborhoods in the city linked to the upper classes. It has a great number of traditional palaces from the beginning of the XX century. Its most characteristic place is its cemetery that boats famous sculptures and vaults where some of the most important national hereos of the Argentinean history, as Guillermo Brown, Dorrego or Evita lie.
