Two centuries ago, a Moving Stone that oscillated mysteriously on the top of a hill that carries its name transformed the city of Tandil into a magical and dreamed tourist destination. People from all over the world came until its fall in 1912, to see the balancing act of this immense granite mass. Now, with a replica that faithfully represents the original, located on the same place, it happens something similar. All this, framed in a wonderful landscape in less than four hours away from the Capital City, where the harmony of the scenery blends with the gastronomy of exquisite local products.
For that reason, Tandil became a privileged tourist destination in the province of Buenos Aires, chosen by local and international visitors. Nothing of this is accidental, since in addition to its mountainous landscape, the tranquility of its streets, the quality of its artisan production and the hospitality of its people an essential component was added, the enterprising spirit of its inhabitants to provide the visitors the best quality and comfort.

Therefore, due to its accommodations, its gastronomy and the development of sport activities and relaxation, Tandil was turned into a clear and constant reference, throughout the year, to be chosen by those who seek rest in summer as in winter, within the framework of well-taken care of services and benefits.
This growth in quantity and quality of its tourist services is accompanied by a city that, along its public streets, offers beautiful moments. Parks with well-cared playgrounds, strolls along the mountain ranges such as the Fundidor Monument, the Quijote Monument, the Puñón Mapuche, or the Way of the Pioneers, are only some of the attractions that were highlighted or directly created to surprise those who have not come to Tandil for some time.
In addition one will encounter its traditional sightseeing as the Centinela Hill and its chair lift, the Cascade, the El Fuerte Lake, the Independence Park or the Natural Reservoir Sierra del Tigre.
They are only some of the possibilities that Tandil offers year-round to the visitors who choose among their inns, hotels, posadas, cabins or campings to stay during their vacations. Traditional tables of cold cuts, one night at the Casino, a movie, a regional meal, a concert or a performance in some of the so many plays that appear constantly, are only some of the “excuses” used by all those who arrive at the mountain city.

Some will take advantage and will stay a few days, convinced that they have left much to do. Others, perhaps, run by work reasons or scholastic periods, will return the same day. But always, and that is another seal of Tandil, with the promise to return in a short period of time, promise that is always fulfilled. Thus, the ones who come from the city admire the cleanness and tranquility of its streets, the foreigner the landscape and the variety of activities and the ones who arrived from some province the dynamics and quality of its commercial center. They are just examples and each one of the visitors usually praises one of these aspects without concerning their origin. The true is that Tandil, always offers more and better things. For those who spend two weeks along its hillsides or a couple of hours to get to know the mountain ranges of the city, which are among the oldest of the planet.
