BELGRANO
On the one hand, it is one of the most residential and refined districts of Buenos Aires. It has a great amount of old and important houses, most of them from the last century. On the other hand, modern and comfortable buildings have been built in this district during the last decades. Both the residential area and the commercial one stand out for its European lines turning it into one of the most selected districts of Buenos Aires. Many English schools, commercial centers, wonderful houses of impeccable lines and style such as the Inmaculada Concepcion Church (known as “La Redonda”) and the Larreta Museum abound. Belgrano is a loaded district of culture, tradition and history and walking along its streets one can appreciate monuments, museums, libraries and magnificent squares. Just pay a visit to the Ravines (Barranca) of Belgrano designed by Carlos Thays, the French architect hired by Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, who was in charge of many of the most beautiful parks of the country. A characteristic element of this neighborhood is the River Plate Soccer Club, one of the most important of the country that possesses its stadium, “El Monumental”, with capacity for more than 70.000 spectators.
